Barbara Lee Vandiver Sosby, 85, of Ringgold, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at her home. Born April 16, 1934 in Franklin Co., GA, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Pinkney Vandiver and Jessie May Morgan Vandiver. She was married to the late Rev. Dorsey B. Sosby. Barbara had served as pastor at Bowersville Church of God and ministered those at Alpine Psycho Educational Center. She was a member of The Pointe Church of God in Toccoa, GA. She is survived by her daughters, Joy Shirley (Elbert) of Canon, GA and Janet Sosby of Ringgold, GA; sisters, Imogene Maxwell of Royston, GA, Awilda Ann Redd of Carnesville, GA, and Darlene Mauldin of Lavonia, GA; grandchildren, Jeremy Shirley, Joshua Shirley, Candice Dockins Simmons and Paul C. Dockins; and great grandchildren, Jessie Shirley, Colton Shirley, Gunner Simmons and Finley Simmons. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Jeanene Sosby; and sisters, Johnnie Nabors and Yvo Wallers. A private cryptside service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Terry Collins officiating. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 11:30am-12:00pm.
