Barbara Veasey, 91, died Friday, December 15, 2023, at The Cambridge Assisted Living and Memory Care, Smyrna, GA.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Piscataway, NJ before moving to Anderson, SC. She worked at Rutgers University for eleven years as a Microbiology Lab Technician Assistant as well as a bank teller in Piscataway, NJ. She was an active member of Community Baptist Church, Somerset, NJ and Centerville Baptist Church, Anderson, SC, and an ardent fan of the Atlanta Braves.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Veasey, twin sister, Lyn Petri, brother, Frank Maskell, and parents Gertrude and Frank Maskell. She was the loving mother of Sue (Terry) Hampel, Laura (David) Peterson, and Barbara (Bruce Vieira) Kessell. She was the dear Nanna to Erin Jackson, Eric (Laura) Peterson, Melissa (Brian) Kimball, Shari (Nick) Landry, Ty (Kit) Hampel, Jane (Andrew) Mellow, Morgan (Jonny Flores) Kessell, Michael (Elise) Kessell, and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the McDougald Family Center from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. The memorial service will follow in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home at 3:30 pm with Rev. David Peterson officiating.
