BARBARA WICKER February 23, 1948 - August 26, 2008TOWNVILLE, SCMrs. Barbara Fountain Wicker, age 60, wife of Jimmy Ross Wicker of 423 Cromer Road, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Anderson, SC on February 23, 1948, Mrs. Wicker was a daughter of the late Marvin Columbus Fountain and Nellie Pearl Elgin Fountain. She retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas and was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of the home; daughters, Darlene Vance and Karen Groves, both of Anderson; step-daughters, Nancy Patterson, Beverly Brock and Tracey Stephens, all of Townville; sisters, Jean Jordan of Starr and Selma Whitfield of Townville; brothers, Ronald Fountain of Belton, Marvin Fountain of Virginia, Ira Fountain of Anderson, Willis Fountain of Durham, NC, and Randolph Fountain of Anderson; four grandchildren, Barbara and Bert Adams, Quentin and Esha Martin; two great-grandchildren, Tron Paul and Kayden Martin and a special nephew, Devin Cantoni of the home.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Malissa Anne Brown; granddaughter, Crystal Danielle Brown; brothers, Charles, J. C. and Joe Fountain and sisters, Thelma McCullough, Christine King and Joyce McCloud. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Double Springs Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Daryle Hawthorne and Reverend Ed Sayer. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mrs. Wicker will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.The family will be at the residence.
