B.D. CROWENOVEMBER 5, 1915 - DECEMBER 20, 2009ANDERSON, SC ' Basil Dennard 'B.D.' Crowe, age 94, formerly of Manse Jolly Road, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.Born in Hart County, GA, on November 5, 1915, he was a son of the late John B. Crowe and Jana Richardson Crowe. Mr. Crowe served in the United States Army and was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and the American Legion. Following a career in textiles, he was the first President of Crowe's, Inc. He was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.Survivors include his children: Sue Wardlaw and husband, Dan of Central, SC, Carol Martin and husband, Joe of Anderson, SC, and Charles D. Crowe and wife, Reatha of Anderson, SC; sisters: Hazel Rampey and Bonnie Wolfe, both of Anderson, SC; brother, Roger Crowe of St. Cloud, FL; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Floy Nell Saraske Crowe; daughter, Mildred Owens; sisters: Dorothy Stone and Jana Carroll; and brothers: Ross Crowe and J.B. Crowe.The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, conducted by the Reverend Joe Pace. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2009.In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials may be made to the Carillon Chimes Project Fund, c/o M.J.
