Belvin Maynard Ware, Sr., age 96, of Easley, SC, and resident of Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home for the past eight years, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 with his family at his bedside. A native of Kings Mountain, NC, born on March 4, 1920, he was the son of the late John Fletcher Ware and the late Ursala Weir Ware. Belvin was a veteran of World War II having served in Europe during the Battle of the Bulge and received numerous awards including, the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was proud of his four years of service and was always eager to talk about his war experiences. He was associated with Textile Management for his entire working career. He was with Burlington Industries for 20 years, and also with MayFair Mills. He was a member of Saint Andrew United Methodist Church, Easley. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Georgia Wiles Ware; three children, Belvin "Matt" M. Ware, Jr. of Liberty, Susan Ware-Snow (Murray), and Linda Ware Day (Tony) both of Easley; two precious grandchildren, Ashbie and Krista Day of Easley; and a sister, Margaret Wrape of Greensboro, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson, with the Reverend Murray Snow officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Linda Day, 106 Andrews Corner, Easley, SC 29642.
