Ben Richard Phillips, Sr. Anderson, SC Ben Richard Phillips, Sr., age 76, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Greer, SC, on December 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Thomas Benard Phillips and Evelyn Johnson Phillips. Ben proudly served his country in the United States Army. He graduated from Clemson University and earned a BA in Textiles. He retired from Springs Industries as the Vice President. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Anderson, SC. He is survived by his son, Ben Richard Phillips, Jr., (Bonnie Ginepro), of Anderson, SC; two sisters-in-law, (Tom) Margaret Phillips, of Landrum, SC and (Dean) Joanne Phillips, of Anderson, SC; two nieces and two nephews, two great-nieces and one great-nephew In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Harden Phillips; a son, Bryon Harden Phillips; and brothers, Thomas Bernard Phillips, Jr. and William Dean Phillips. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating. Interment will follow at Old Silver Brook Cemetery.
