Benjamin Eugene Parnell, 76, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at AnMed Health Care Center. Born, July 31, 1944 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Kenneth Parnell and Frances Bryant Parnell. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Marshal Parnell. Benny spent his life as a skilled carpenter and served eight years in the Army Reserve. Benny enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lydia Simpson Parnell; son, Benjamin Eugene Parnell, II (Caitlyn); daughter, Lydia Anne McClain; brothers, Jimmie Parnell (Kathryn) and Ira Parnell; and his grandsons, Coby, Luke and Ethan McClain. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11 am at Long Branch Baptist Church. Dr. Clarence Adkins will officiate. Immediately following the family will receive friends at the cemetery. Social distancing will be observed.
