BENNY ROLAND, SR.February 24, 1948 - December 5, 2009Anderson, SC ' Benny George Roland, Sr., age 61, of 214 Duckett Road, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Henry Willie Roland and Lou Ellen Jordan Gentry. He retired from La France Industries and was a member of Asbury Baptist Church where he was currently serving as a deacon.Benny is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shirley June Patterson Roland; a son, Benny George Roland, Jr. and his wife, Angel; a daughter, Kimberly June Roland Crawford and her husband, Mike. He is 'Papa' to Jayme, Hanna, Andrew, Ashley and Taylor. His sister Shirley Roland Glenn and her husband, William, also survive.He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Earl and Larry Roland.A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Asbury Baptist Church with the Rev. Delennon Stowe officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.The family will be at the residence.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Asbury Baptist Church, 2770 Centerville Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
