Bertha Mae Jackson Manning HONEA PATH, SC Bertha Mae Jackson Manning, 74, of 211 River Trace Lane, Honea Path, died at her residence Tuesday morning. She was born on July 1st, 1939 to the late Otis and Virginia Mills Jackson in New Madrid, Missouri. She was a member of the Little River Baptist Church in Honea Path. She retired from Erskine College Dining Hall where she served as a Baker. Ms. Manning was the former spouse of Eldridge Manning who preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons: Billy Manning (Dottie) of Honea Path, Allen Manning (Dorothy) of Clover, and Jeff Manning (Amy) of Gastonia, NC; three brothers: Johnny Jackson (Ruby) of East Prairie, MO, "Hoppy" Jackson (Sue) of New Madrid, MO, and Hank Jackson (Linda) of New Madrid, MO; two sisters: Sue Bagwell (Jack) of Oran, MO and Jane Graham of Oran, MO; six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a great grandson: Bailey Morton; two sisters: Bonnie Boulton and Delsie Jackson; and one brother: Henry Clay Jackson. A funeral service will be held at Little River Baptist Church in Honea Path on Thursday, at 3:00pm, November 14, 2013 with the Rev. Garrett Hart officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Little River Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the church, Thursday, November 14, 2013.
