PettigrewCalhoun FallsBertha Wiles Pettigrew, age 97, longtime resident of 609 Rice Street, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009, at the Summit Place in Simpsonville, S.C.Born in Iva, S.C., on June 19, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Beuley Edward Wiles and Williae Melinda Burton Wiles. She retired from the textiles industry and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Calhoun Falls.Survivors include her children: Allan A. Pettigrew of Calhoun Falls, and Mary E. Chapman and husband, Garvice H. Chapman of Mauldin; son-in-law, Ralph Madison of Piedmont; grandchildren: Theresa Mohlenhoff and husband, Eric, Steve Madison, Terry Madison and wife, Rebecca, and Wayne Pettigrew, II; great-grandchildren: Justin Mohlenhoff and Sarah Beth Mohlenhoff. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford F. Pettigrew; children: Wayne Pettigrew and wife, Geraldine Pettigrew, and Winona Pettigrew Madison; and two grandsons: Clifford Pettigrew and Carl Allan Pettigrew.A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2009, at the Iva City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 9:45 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Summit Place, 807 S. E.
