Bettie June Mowery Vail, 85, of Pendleton, SC, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026, at AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital.

Born August 2, 1940, in Rush Springs, OK, she was the daughter of the late James Louis Mowery and Mattie Lou Trammell Mowery. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ray Mowery.

Bettie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was always her top priority. She was a talented cook, enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques. She loved her cats who were her fur babies.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Henry Vail; daughters, Gina Greene of Leland, NC, Courtney Demirjian of Boerne, TX, and Sheridan Crouch (Jeff) of Central, SC; and grandchildren, Matt Greene (LeeAnn) of Wichita, KS, Hannah Demirjian of Newport, CA, Scott Greene of Arlington, VA, and Kendall Demirjian of Houston, TX.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 pm at The McDougald Family Center, 2303 N. Main St., Anderson, SC 29621 (next door to the funeral home).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands of Clemson, 3109 Old Greenville Hwy, Pendleton, SC 29670.
