Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Howell Strickland Huff and the late Pearl Mercer Huff. She was a graduate of Girls High. For many years, Betty worked as a buyer for Bailes Department Store and as a salesperson for McCalls Men's Store. After retirement, she opened a children's daycare in her home, where she worked for the next 20 years. She was a dedicated member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church becoming the first female deacon. Betty was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, was the secretary and treasurer of her Sunday school class and sang in the church choir. She was passionate about many things, her family, her church, and especially her song and poetry writing. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her children, Tony Bane of Anderson, SC and Vickie Wilson and her husband Erik of Farmville, VA: brothers, Harold Huff of Anderson and Curtis Huff of Cheney, WA; grandchildren, Krissie W. Tye and her husband Jon of Midlothian, VA and Mark Wilson and his wife Kayli of Farmville, VA. She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Tommy, Howell, Jr., Melvin and Pete Huff. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Betty will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11:00 am at Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Reverend Brent Lollis, the Reverend Scott Lollis and Mr. Harry Osborne. The members of the Sunday School Class #2 will serve as honorary escort. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family is at the residence, 120 Selwyn Drive, Anderson and will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 17 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
