Betty Mahaffey Barnes, age 85, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Rainey Hospice House. Born April 17, 1933, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Walter "Gus" Carl and Mozelle Cummings Mahaffey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Horace "Mickey" Barnes; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Joe and Sherry Barnes and a brother, James Mahaffey. Betty was a graduate of Belton High School and retired from Fiberglas. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her cousins, Pat Menesse and Dwight and Sherry Davis and a nephew, Michael Mahaffey. The graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, October 22, 2018 at Garden of Memories in Belton with Chaplain Deon Louw officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
