Betty Jo Powell Bennett, age 89, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, March, 8, 2022 at her home. Born January 22, 1933, in Calhoun Falls, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Lee Powell and Nellie Welcher Powell. She was married to Charles Donald Bennett, Sr. until his death in 2017. Betty loved reading and decorating and was an excellent southern cook. She was a woman of faith and enjoyed watching religious programs. She is survived by her sons, Wayne Burdette (Bonnie), Danny Bennett (Mary Jane), and Mark Bennett; daughter-in-law, Diane Cho Bennett; grandchildren, Bradley and Brian Burdette, Bailey Bennett, Michael Bennett, Christopher Bennett, and Phillip Bennett; and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles D. "Chuck" Bennett, Jr.; grandson, Harrison Taylor Bennett; and siblings, Fred Powell, Froble Powell, Bill Powell, Judy Nallie, and Dean Powell. A private family service will be held at a later date.
