Betty Loreine Burke Bobo, age 79, formerly of Starr, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, at Hartwell Health and Rehabilitation in Hartwell, GA. Born on January 13, 1937 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Robert Glenn Burke and the late Myrtle Hutchins Burke. Betty was the loving and devoted wife of the late James Edwin Bobo until his death in 2002. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was employed at Singer for many years. She is survived by a son, Robert Kenneth Bobo and his wife, Wendy, of Belton, SC; five sisters, Mary Ruth Kirby of Gaffney, SC, Shirley Dunse and her husband, Albert, Connie Carithers, Patricia Powell and her husband, Doyle, and Janice Montgomery and her husband, Gene, all of Starr, SC; two grandchildren, Whitner and Josh Bobo; also surviving are many nieces and nephews. The body will be at The McDougald Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Sunday, August 21, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016, at 5 p.m. at South Lawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Sonny White officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in memory of Mrs. Bobo be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.
