Margie Elizabeth "Betty" Creamer Buchanan, age 71, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born on September 25, 1945, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Dendy and Helen Simmons Creamer of Williamston, SC. She was a faithful member of Forest Hill Baptist Church for 43 years. She retired after 20 years of service from Anderson School District Five, having worked at the Westside High School Library. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Earl Buchanan, of 48 years; her children, Richard Scott Buchanan (Krystal) of Walhalla and Jennifer Buchanan Kurecka (Michael) of Arlington, TX; her sister, Marian Creamer West (Mike) of Anderson; and nine grandchildren. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and friend to many. She loved being with her family and friends, traveling, dancing, and sharing the love of Jesus with others. The family is at the home and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 3:30 officiated by Reverend Tom Owen. Burial at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran's Cemetery will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Honorary Escorts will be the members of Naomi Sunday School Class.
