Obituary

Joyce Glenn Callaham, age 88, of Seneca, SC, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Cottingham Hospice House.

Born December 19, 1937, in Fair Play, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Glenn and Mary Simpson Glenn. She was married to Rayford A. Callaham until his death in 2002. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Mae Payne, Hazel McMahan, and Gladys Hicks; and brother, Max Glenn.

Joyce was the owner of a cleaning business for many years before she retired. She also spent time as a teacher's assistant. She had a gift with children and lovingly nurtured and cared for them as if they were her own. She was a talented painter and enjoyed sharing her talent with her grandchildren, teaching them and inspiring them in the craft. She loved tending to her flower garden and was a fabulous cook, especially with the traditional southern dishes of banana pudding and macaroni and cheese. Joyce was a strong woman of faith and member of Green Pond Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a simple and eloquent woman who had a deep love for her family.

She is survived by her son, Rick Callaham (Connie); siblings, Jean Gibson and Larry Glenn; grandchildren, Colson Andrew Callaham (Jessica) and Erin Glenn Callaham; and great grandchildren, Colton, Kaydon, Jonathan, and Sadie.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Dickson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cottingham Hospice House, 390 Keowee School Rd. Seneca, SC 29672.
