Ms. Betty Cox Brown, 77, of Anderson, SC died on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Linley Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was the daughter of the late C. C. and Lucille Graham Cox born on December 20, 1939 in Anderson, SC. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and was an accountant at Singer-Ryobi Company where she retired. Surviving are her children: Kim Harrell and Timothy Brown both of Anderson, SC; four sisters: Elizabeth Woolbright of Seneca, SC, Lorene Gaines and husband Billy of Anderson, SC, Ruth Edwards and husband Carl of Anderson, SC, and Willie Stephens and husband Michael of Six Mile, SC; three brothers: Marshall Cox and wife Lessie of Taylors, SC, Cecil Cox and wife Doris of York, SC, and Don Cox of Westminister, SC; two grandchildren: Shalamar Brown and Holt Harrell; and one great grandchild: Claire Hunt. In addition to her parents Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her husband: Vernon Brown and her brother: Steve Cox. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 12:30pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson, SC. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The Brown family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Kim Harrell.
