Betty Lou Brown Dixon, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Oconee County, SC on April 28, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Homer Brown and the late Lenna Blanchett Brown. She was a life-long textile worker retiring from Wamsutta Mills. She was of the Baptist faith. Betty enjoyed her family, cooking, and was known for being a strong, independent, and gracious lady.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Rogers and her husband Rick; a half-sister, Christine Walker; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Tony Hooper, Sandra Browning, and Jimmy Dixon; and a half-sister, Diane Walker.
Mrs. Dixon will be taken to her home, 1524 Cherokee Circle, Anderson, SC 29625, where family and friends will be welcome throughout the day on Saturday, July 23rd.
The Graveside service will be held at New Silver Brook Cemetery on Sunday, July 24th at 2:00 p.m. The funeral procession will travel from the house to the cemetery beginning at 1:30 p.m.
