Betty Ruth Bailey Fowler, age 89, of Anderson, SC, loving wife to the late Ira L. Fowler, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House. Born September 23, 1933, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Sam Bailey and Linda Stephens Bailey. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly and treasured spending time with them on her front porch. She was a humble lady that would do anything for those she loved. She enjoyed sewing, was an excellent cook, and was also a member of Oasis Church of Anderson. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Hart (Donnie); sister, Mary Scott; grandchildren, Donna Gillespie (Ray), and Amanda Truman (Rick); and great-grandchildren, Bailey, Anna, and CJ Nafziger, and Emily and Jolie Truman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Archie, Odis, and Herman Bailey; and sister, Dessie Broyles. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
