Betty Jean Tiller Franklin, age 90, of Starr, SC, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, at her home. Born October 20, 1931, in Seneca, SC, she was a daughter of the late Newton Isom Tiller and Floree Hughes Tiller. She was married for 68 years to Donald A. Franklin until his death in 2019. Betty was a graduate of Woodruff High School Class of 1949. She was a charter member and the oldest member of Toxaway United Methodist Church where she was formerly a Sunday School teacher and nursery worker. Betty's family and friends will remember her as a wonderful cook, and a selfless and caring Christian lady. She is survived by her sons, Bruce Franklin and Tony Franklin (Deborah); sister, Louise Mull; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Bradley Franklin; 3 brothers and 1 sister. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Freda Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted and memorial contributions may be made to Toxaway United Methodist Church, 1212 E. Whitner St., Anderson, SC 29624.
