BETTY JO GILES ANDERSON, SC Betty Jo Evans Giles, age 77, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, on May 3, 1936, she was the daughter of Ruby Norris Evans, of Anderson and the late Woodrow G. Evans. She was an executive secretary for Nationwide Insurance Company, South Carolina National Bank and played a major role in setting up the Multiple Listings Service in Anderson, SC. She was a member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Farrell Giles; her children, Vickie G. McAlister and her husband Steve, of Pendleton, SC, Joseph Scott Giles and his wife Teresa, of Anderson, SC and Beverly G. Blackwell and her husband Barry, of York, SC; brother, William Ray Evans and his wife Louise: seven grandchildren, Alan McAlister and his wife Angel, Anna M. Harper and her husband Eric, Wes Giles and his wife Anna, Leslie Giles, Beth M. Davis and her husband John, Leigha B. Sink and her husband Jonathan, Mark Blackwell and his wife Melissa; and 8 great-grandchildren, Will, Emilee, Morgan, Harbin Ella, Mac, Jennings and Guy. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Farrell Giles. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Kirt Mitchell and Reverend J. Floyd Stansell, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
