Betty King Gollihugh, age 87, passed away on March 28, 2017, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Fayetteville, WV on July 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John Ralph and Vernie Marshall King. She worked in communications throughout her career beginning as a telephone operator in Fayetteville, WV and ending with Anderson Memorial Hospital and Anderson Independent Mail. Betty spent most of her life caring for her family. After the death of her father in 1952, Betty, and her husband John, brought her mother, Vernie and sister, Linda, who had Down-Syndrome to live with them. Together, Betty and John cared for both until Vernie's death in 1981 and Linda's death in 2010. Betty was a member of River of Life Church of God. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her loving husband, John Easter Gollihugh; three daughters, Debra Gollihugh-Witt, Delores Gollihugh, and Donna Gollihugh; three grandchildren, Ryan and Jeffrey Witt and Stephanie Heggood; and three sisters-in-law, Phyllis, Joyce, and Gloria King In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Winfred King, Joel King, Wilbur H. King and his wife Dorothy, Thomas L. King, and Maurice King; a sister, Linda King; and a son-in-law, James Gary Witt. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Reverend Dale Dyar officiating.
