Betty Lou HanksOctober 14, 1938 - January 1, 2009IVA, SC Betty Lou Partain Hanks, age 70, wife of the late Chester Charlie 'Check' Hanks, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2009.Born in Anderson County, SC on October 14, 1938, Mrs. Hanks was a daughter to the late John Reese Partain and Bertha Phillips Partain. She retired from Connie's Residential Care and attended Iva First Assembly of God.Survivors include her son, Richard D. Brown, Sr. and his wife, Minetta; grandchildren, Kristie Sandia Brown and Richard Dale Brown, Jr.; brothers, Ronald, David, and John Oliver Partain; sisters, Bennie Sue Walker and Elaine Smith. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Ray Partain.A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Iva City Cemetery.
