BETTY S. HOYLE October 17, 1929 - September 17, 2012 Mrs. Betty S. Hoyle, age 82, passed away at the Rainey Hospice House surrounded by her loving and devoted family on Monday, September 17, 2012. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Fitzhugh Lee Shelton and the late Katherine Fowler Shelton. For 28 years she was the wife of the late Richard A. Hoyle until his death in 2005. Mrs. Hoyle was a graduate of Girls High School in Anderson and of Anderson College where she graduated with a degree in accounting. Mrs. Hoyle was associated with Seabrook, Inc. for 38 years until her retirement. She served as Financial Officer of Seabrook. Betty was a member of the American Business Women's Association, and was a past President of the organization. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading and was exceptional at needle work. Betty was a devoted and faithful member of St. John's United Methodist Church where she was a member and former teacher of the Marshall Fant Sunday School Class. She was the fourth generation of her family to sing in the Chancel Choir at St. John's. Also, she was a member of the United Methodist Women's organization. Left to carry on her legacy are her family including 3 daughters, Kathi Gray and her husband, Sonny, of Iva, Shirley Glenn and her husband, Ronnie, of Anderson, Renee' Bryant and her husband, Ronnie, of Anderson; a step-son, Dr. Mark Hoyle and his wife, Darlene, of Townville; a sister, Emmie Gurley and her husband, Glenn, of Anderson; also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by a son, James C. Callaham, Jr. A funeral service celebrating the life of Betty S. Hoyle will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 11:30 AM at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with The Rev. Dan Batson officiating. Entombment will follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 AM until 11 AM.
