Betty Newton Koonce, 85 of Anderson, SC passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Rainey Hospice House. Born January 1, 1935 in Liberty, MS, she was the daughter of the late Morris Earl Newton and Louise Terrell Newton. Betty worked for SLED in Columbia, SC retiring in 1993. She was a devoted housewife and mother for over 26 years while raising her family. She is survived by her sons, John Steven Koonce (Kelleen) and Don Koonce (Sherry); her brother, Morris Earl Newton, Jr. and sister, Dorothy Newton Fowler. The family will have a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PAWS, 1320 US-29, Anderson, SC 29626.
