Betty Vickery Lundkovsky, 78, of Anderson, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 10, 2026. Born on January 18, 1948, Betty lived a life marked by faith, love, kindness, and devotion to her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Michael "Mike" Lundkovsky; her parents, Reba Johnson Vickery and Thomas Owen Vickery; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Madge Lundkovsky; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Lundkovsky; her sister-in-law, Lisa Vickery; and her sister, Debbie West.
She is survived by her loving children, Chris Lundkovsky and his wife, Margie, and Stacy Lundkovsky and his wife, Jennifer. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Maddison Stoller, Wood Lundkovsky, Jennifer Norwood, and Lauren Reinhardt. Betty was also blessed with 17 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. She is survived by her brother, Tim Vickery, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she adored.
Betty dedicated part of her career to serving children as a kindergarten assistant teacher in the school system. Her gentle spirit, patience, and caring heart made a lasting impact on the lives of countless young students and their families. Above all else, Betty loved Jesus and faithfully lived out her Christian faith. Raised in the Baptist church, her relationship with the Lord remained the foundation of her life. She loved spending time with her family, gathering with those she loved most, and creating treasured memories during summer beach trips to Lakewood Campground in Myrtle Beach. She was an avid reader and found joy in life's simple blessings.
Those who knew Betty knew a woman whose kindness and warmth drew people to her. To know her was truly to love her. She was the salt of the earth-a faithful servant, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend whose legacy of faith and love will continue through the generations she leaves behind. Though her family grieves her absence, they find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and experiencing the joy of eternal life.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at McDougald Funeral Home, 2211 North Main Street, Anderson, South Carolina 29621. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Phil Goins of Freedom Biker Church of Hickory, NC, with a graveside service immediately following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Betty's family invites all who knew and loved her to join them in celebrating a life beautifully lived and a faith steadfastly kept. While she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise that they will see her again. Her love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
