BETTY L. McALISTER July 21, 1924 - August 28, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Betty Lee Lawrence McAlister, wife of the late Reverend Hugh McAlister, age 89, of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Lewis, IN, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Lawrence and the late Mary Driver Lawrence. She was a homemaker, and also dedicated her life to being a pastor's wife. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Vickery (Billy), of Anderson, SC and Myra Pisarek of West Virginia two grandchildren, Kristie Conwell and Grant Vickery; and three great-grandchildren, Donovan Conwell, Bryson Vickery and Conner Vickery. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Janine Smith and Amy Richmond. The Graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 3:00 PM with Reverend Dewayne Peeples officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The family will be at the home of Sandra and Billy Vickery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Pointe Church Building Fund, 640 Hembree Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
