Betty Jo Collins Grubbs Pelfrey, 86, of Hartwell, GA, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Hart Care Center. Born December 7, 1932, in the Red Hill Community of Franklin County, GA, she was a daughter of the late, Roy Sanford and Rachel Hill Collins. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Tribble Grubbs and her late husband, Carl Pelfrey; as well as her sons, Larry and Roger Grubbs and grandson, Kevin Grubbs. Betty retired from Sky City and had also worked at Wal-Mart and Hamrick's. She was a member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Nimmons (Butch) of Pendleton; sisters, Peggy Stowe of Eastanolee, GA and Martha Fowler (Jerry) of Rock Hill, SC and grandson, Joseph Nimmons. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30 pm Saturday, March 23, 2019 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 4:00 pm with Dr. Kirt Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
