Betty Montez White Stalnaker, 77, loving wife of Sloan Edward Stalnaker, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Oconee Co., SC, on November 3, 1940, Betty was the daughter of the late Clifford White and Eunice Stancel White. Betty first worked as a seamstress in textiles for Jansen, then later began a career as a manager with the Jack Rabbit Photography 3M Company. She was a faithful member of Centerville Church of God, where she was also a member of the Ladies Ministry. In addition to her husband Sloan, Betty is survived by her children, William "Lamar" Welborn, and Teresa Cox, both of Anderson; brothers, Raymond White (Gay) of Townville, and Hershel White (Betty) of Walhalla; sisters, Myra Williams (Troy) of Walhalla, and Joyce Schlock (Derral) of Townville; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Dewey, Doyle, Virgil, and Milton White; and a sister, Evelyn Robinson. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, April 2, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 3 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverends Terry Collins and Melvin Powell officiating. Interment will follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
