Betty Jo Smalley Threlkeld, age 83, of Anderson, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015, at her residence. Born on January 28, 1932, in Seneca, SC, she was the daughter of the late James W. Smalley and the late Ila Vernon Smalley. For 62 years, she was the loving and devoted wife of the late Paul O. Threlkeld until his death in 2014. Mrs. Threlkeld was a graduate of Anderson Girls' High School, and was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, James Paul Threlkeld and his wife, Karen, of Anderson, and Joseph Mark Threlkeld and his wife, Deana, of Anderson; two sisters Patsy Patterson of Anderson, and Peggy Dunlap and her husband, Bobby, of Belton; and four grandchildren, Paula, Billy, Chase, and Alex Threlkeld. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Graveside Service to honor the life of Betty Jo Threlkeld will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Ron Culbertson officiating. The family will be at the residence of Mark and Deana Threlkeld, 950 First Creek Road, Anderson, and will receive friends at Forest Lawn following the service.
