She was a graduate of Girls High School and Wesleyan College, Macon, GA. Following in the tradition of fine food and fine hotels established by her mother and father, she operated King's Inn in Highlands, NC, the Jacaranda Hotel in Avon Park, FL, and the Mary Musgrove Hotel in Clinton, SC. Later she founded Po Folks Restaurants. She was a tireless and innovative business woman whose love of the hotel and food industry was always evident. While residing in Anderson, she was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.Mrs. Trowbridge is survived by two daughters, Kay Trowbridge Thomas and husband Alfred W. Thomas, III of Greenville, SC and Patty Trowbridge Kornegay of Camden, SC; a son, William Joseph Trowbridge, Jr. of Greenville, SC; one sister, Mahalie King Brown of Anderson; twin brothers, Robert Rutledge King, Jr. of Avon Park, FL and Richard Woodward King of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Robert R. Hayes and his wife Leslie of Anderson, SC; Joshua B. Gallagher of Brevard, NC; Alfred Walter Thomas, IV of Greenville, SC; Casey Gallagher of Copper Mountain, CO; Meredith Thomas Canady and her husband Josh of Honolulu, HI; Heather Kornegay Zemp of Columbia, SC; George V. Kornegay, Jr. of Camden, SC; and Georgia Kornegay Frazier of Gaithersburg, MD; great grandchildren, Dodgen Gallagher and Harrison Hayes.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Robert and Michael Hudson Trowbridge and a son-in-law, George V. Kornegay.The Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at Central Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. David J. Bailey and the Reverend Dr. Martin L. Harkey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Old Silverbrook Cemetery.The family will receive friends in the Parlor of Central Presbyterian Church from 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2006.In lieu of floral contributions, memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E.
