William Douglas Dickey, age 81, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born July 8, 1944, in Scotch Plains, NJ, he was a son of the late Clayton Dickey and Florence Baker Dickey.

Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. His work career began in San Diego, California working as an electronics service repairman for many years before relocating to Anderson where he worked as a printing press operator for the Anderson Independent Mail until he retired. He was a man of eclectic taste who also enjoyed reading, playing poker, and trips to Las Vegas.

He is survived by his brother, Dave Dickey and his wife, Peggy; nephews, David Dickey, Jr. and his wife, Kristin and Richard Douglas Dickey; and great nephews, Alex and Patrick and great niece, Sarah.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Mr. Michael Rippy as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
