Bill Loyd Thomas William "Bill" Loyd of Anderson died at AnMed Health Medical Center on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Born on November 15, 1929, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Lilburn Loyd and the late Mildred Hanks Loyd. Mr. Loyd graduated from Anderson Boys High School and subsequently served in the US Navy for 4 years during the Korean Conflict. Following military service he was employed for approximately 30 years as an electrician with Owens Corning Fiberglas. His hobby was working with electronics. Bill was of the Jehovah Witness faith. Survivors include his wife, Clara Childs Loyd of Starr; a son, Mark A. Loyd of Anderson; 2 daughters, Sherry L. Spearman and husband, Dwayne, Lynn L. Ellis and husband Donnie, and a step daughter, Jean Young and husband Aaron, all of Anderson; 3 brothers, Ralph Loyd and his wife, Virginia, of Anderson, Lamarr Loyd and his wife, Diane of High Point, NC, and Steve Loyd of Atlanta, GA; 2 sisters, Delores Bolt and husband, Ernest and Laura Palmer and husband Donald, both of Anderson. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents, Mr. Loyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbie Jean Loyd who died in 1996, and infant son William David Loyd. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Dr. Kirt Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
