William Raymond "Bill" Mytko, age 90, of Belton, SC, dedicated husband to Eva Rogers Mytko for 68 years, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born March 13, 1930, in Jamaica, Queens, NY, he was the son of the late William Stanley Mytko and Katherine Herman Mytko.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a huge supporter of the Armed Forces and First Responders. He worked as an Aircraft Technician for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage and Calverton, NY for over forty years, from where he later retired. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post 155 of Lake Ronkonkoma, and the National Rifle Association. Bill enjoyed fishing, and gunsmithing. He was also an active participant in, and sponsor of, Alcoholics Anonymous.
In addition to his wife, Eva, Bill is survived by his children, Cathi Mytko, Margaret Sempey, Wilhelmina Best, Dodie Clark, and William S. Mytko; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Fenton, William Fenton, Jameson Sempey, Dustin Sempey, Karlye Wissemer, Parris Lamont, Rachel Holliday, and Rebekah Mytko; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Eva Frances Mytko and Victoria Mytko.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Fr. Robert Higgins officiating. The funeral service will be available to view via the live stream tab on The McDougald Funeral Home website. Burial will be at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
