He was a graduate of Anderson Boys' High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and later served in the United States Army. Mr. Ramsey retired as a Supervisor for BellSouth.Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth 'Betty' McCarley Ramsey of the home; daughter, April Dawn Holtzclaw of Erlanger, KY; and four stepsons: Lake Julian of Salem, Dean Mauldin of Piedmont, Tim Mauldin of Seneca, and Mark Mauldin of Buckely, WA.He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Jean Rhodes Ramsey; his sister, Betty Ramsey Culbertson; and his two brothers: Carlton Ramsey and Jack Ramsey.The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by Dr. Jack Couch.
