Billy Ray Gaines, age 74, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Piedmont Post Acute.

Born April 4, 1950, in Royston, GA, he was a son of the late Francis L. Gaines and Sallie L. Vickery Gaines. He was the widow of Barbara Ann Gaines.

Billy resided all of his life in Anderson. He was a plumber by trade and formerly worked at Borden's Ice Cream and Parnell Martin Supply.

He is survived by his son, Eric R. Gaines of Anderson; daughter, Vanessa Kay of Louisville, KY; brother, Joel L. Gaines and his wife Rachel. He was a loving Pappy to his four grandchildren, Alec, Griffin, Chandler, and Alyssa.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11:00 am at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home.
