BILLY W. HANEY July 1, 1943 - October 15, 2012 Billy W. Haney, age 69, of Fair Play, SC, died at AnMed Health Care on Monday, October 15, 2012. Born in Haywood County, NC, he was a son of the late Millard S. Haney and the late Selma Morrow Haney. For 47 years, he was the loving and devoted husband of his wife, Linda S. Haney of the home. Mr. Haney proudly served his country in the US Navy. He earned an associate of science degree from Catawba Valley Community College and studied at Western Carolina University. Mr. Haney was retired as Chair of the Automotive Department at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in Asheville, NC. He was a member of the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church in Asheville. During his retirement years, Billy enjoyed fishing along the shores of Lake Hartwell at his home. Survivors in addition to his wife, Linda, include a brother, S. S. Haney and his wife Sarah of Webster, NC; 2 sisters, Dorothy Peebles and her husband, Ross, of Candler, NC, Bobbi Ray and her husband, Robert, of Asheville.
