OBITUARYBILL 'BILLY' MCCONNELLDecember 31, 1934 - September 22, 2007ANDERSON, SCBill McConnell, age 72, formerly of Anderson, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Abbeville Nursing Home.Born in Anderson County on December 31, 1934, Mr. McConnell was a son of the late W.E. McConnell and Eliza Minor McConnell. He was a graduate of Antreville High School and worked for Daniel Construction Company. Mr. McConnell was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the First Creek Baptist Church.Survivors include, his sons, Ross McConnell, Russell McConnell and his wife Tanya and Rhett McConnell and his wife Tammy, all of Anderson; a brother, Lewis E. McConnell of Lake Secession; sisters, Elsie Brock of Honea Path, Hazel Maxwell of Iva, Mary Jo Stuart of Palatka, FL, and Polly Wilson of Anderson; five grandchildren, Cassidy Lewis, Brook McConnell, Jake McConnell, Dustin and Devin McConnell.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his mother, Susie McConnell Philips; brothers, Aaron, E.V., and Edgar McConnell; a sister, Gladys McConnell and a daughter-in-law, Tina Lewis McConnell.The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 3:00 pm at Asaville Baptist Church with the Reverend Donny Murdock officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.The family will receive friends on Monday, September 25, 2007 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home.
