Billy Robert Record, age 79, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Cottingham House of GHS Hospice of the Foothills. Born on May 26, 1938, in Boggy Bottom, OK, he was the son of the late Gusty Dug Record and the late Ruth Griffin Record. He was the loving husband of Frances McCreery Record of the residence. Billy was raised in California, and is also where he graduated from Fremont High School. He worked as a Facility Maintenance Manager for AMD for over 20 years. He and his wife Frances moved to Townville in 1994. He served as Treasurer for Double Springs Fire Department for several years, and also worked in transportation for Carolina Auto Auction. In addition to his wife, Frances, Billy is survived by his daughter, Theresa Lynn States of Tampa, FL. In addition to his parents, Billy was predeceased by a daughter, Julie Ann States; brothers, Chuck and Rick Record; and a nephew, Mark Record. Billy's ashes will be spread in his honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Double Springs Fire Department, 2601 Old Dobbins Bridge Rd., Townville, SC 29689.
