Billy Joe Watt, age 79, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at NHC in Anderson.
Born in Antreville, SC, on July 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Olin Paul Watt and the late Lou Elsie Thornton Watt. He attended Spartanburg Technical College for two years and worked as an Electrician for 40 years having worked Anderson Electric Company and retired from Duke Power Company. He was member of Auxiliary Police for the Anderson Police Department. Billy was also a member of White Plains Masonic Lodge #321 and Beaverdam Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Taylor Watt; a son, Gregory Keith Watt, of Anderson, SC; daughters, Melanie Jean Watt, of Boiling Springs, SC, and Leslie Watt Kierstead and her husband Reverend Scott Kierstead of Newberry, SC; a sister, Minnie Lee "Duck" Turner, of Anderson, SC; and one grandson, Caleb Kierstead.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Thornton Watt; and a sister, Betty Lou Harris.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend W. Chris Huff and Reverend Josh Taylor officiating. The family will be at the residence and will gather for a time of visitation following the service on Thursday.
