Blenda Ann Motes New, 76, of Anderson, SC, passed away, Monday, December 28, 2020, at AnMed Health Medical Center. She was born August 17, 1944 in Hartwell, GA and was the daughter of the late Cortez Motes and Lillian Crook Johnson. She was married to the late Glenn New. Blenda was a graduate of Hart County High School. She loved children and used her talent for many years at La Petite Academy and then as the owner of Mrs. B's Day Care. She was an influence in so many children's lives over the years. Blenda enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and attended Covenant Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Barry New (Angie) and Kevin New both of Anderson, SC; daughter, Nicole Siders of Anderson, SC; and grandchildren, Megan New and Madison Chastain. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her children, Jeffrey New and Wendy New; and sisters, Shirley Rowland and Gloria Sadler. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 2, 2021, from 10:00-11:00 am at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 am in the Chapel with Dr. Steve Silvey officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
