Robert Neal Dawes, age 80, husband of Jean M. Dawes, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at AnMed Medical Center. Born November 5, 1942, in Yale, OK, Mr. Dawes was the son of the late William Cullen Dawes and Ella Marie Parker Dawes. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Harris and Doris Simmons. Bob attended Oklahoma State University and was a graduate of the Oklahoma School of Barbering. He was the owner of The Shamrock Style Center in Anderson. He attended NewSpring Church. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Jean McLane Dawes; daughter, Amanda Lane Dawes of Anderson, SC; son, Christopher Neal Dawes of Wake Forest, NC; sisters, Deloris Sneed of Denver, CO, and Idonna Braswell of Springfield, MO; and sisters-in-law, Fay Slater and Helen McLane. The family will receive friends Friday, August 25, 2023, from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ron Fousek officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
