Bob Humphrey, age 91, of 213 Shenandoah Road, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Los Angeles, CA on May 29, 1924, he was the son of the late Claude Humphrey and the late Dorothy Kemster Humphrey. For sixty years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Curtis Peebles Humphrey of the residence.
He was in the US Coast Guard where he served in three wars, WW II, Korea, and Vietnam. Bob was retired after twenty-one years of employment with the City of Los Angeles Fire Department. Mr. Humphrey loved hunting and he was a professional dog handler. He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife Curtis, he is survived by a son, William Humphrey of Kuna, ID. Mr. Humphrey was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Bob Humphrey.
A Graveside Service honoring the life of Bob Humphrey will be held at the Committal Shelter at the M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. David Blizzard officiating. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends following the service at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery.
