Robert Warren Phelps, Jr., age 70, of Seneca, SC, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at his home with his wife by his side. Born January 30, 1951 in Rock Hill, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Warren Phelps, Sr. and Nancy Hipp Phelps. Bob was a graduate of Dorman High School and was retired from Duke Energy with 30 years of service at the Oconee Nuclear Station. He enjoyed the outdoors, collecting guns, golfing, and fishing. Bob was a member of Oconee Presbyterian ARP Church. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Mary Elizabeth Dickson Phelps; daughter, Robin Hassell (Bill) of Jefferson, GA; brothers, Bill Phelps (Carla) of Woodruff, SC, and Steve Phelps (Deb) of Greensboro, NC; sister, Jennifer Russo (Ron) of Greensboro, NC; aunt, Gail Kendall; and grandchildren, Maddie and Miles Hamor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Phelps. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The service will be available via livestreaming by visiting the funeral home website.
