Bobbie Newman Durham, age 84, loving wife of Donnie Durham, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015. Born in Greer, SC on November 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Sherman England and Eugenia Swett Newman. She retired from Carpenter's Dry Cleaning in Mauldin after many years of service. Bobbie was a faithful member of Parkwood Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and loved her Lord. She enjoyed her friends and was a devoted, wife, mother, sister, and aunt. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Michael R. Mason, and Anna Marie Brock, both of Anderson, SC; two step-sons, Bryan and Eddie Durham, both of Williamston, SC; a brother, Clayton Newman and his wife Nancy of Simpsonville, SC; one grandchild; one great- grandchild; two step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Mason, Jr.; and two sisters, Sadie L. Murdock and Alice Geraldine Newman. The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Parkwood Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Joe Whisnant officiating. There will be a private family graveside service held at a later date. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Anna Marie Brock, 403 Pioneer Lane, Anderson, SC 29625 and will receive friends following the service at the church on Sunday. The family would like to thank the staff of Ellenburg Nursing Center Unit 2, and Patriot Hospice for the loving care shown to Mrs. Bobbie during her time of need.
