Bobbie Sue Hawkins Phillips, age 95, of Pendleton, SC, passed from this life into her eternal home with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Sue was the wife of Leland A. Phillips with whom she shared 73 wonderful years of marriage. Surviving in addition to her husband are son, Rick Phillips and wife Beth of Greenville and daughter Kathy Fletcher of Anderson, her beloved grandsons, Blake Fletcher, USN and wife Sabrina of San Diego, CA, and Gabe Fletcher of Greenville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Born February 24, 1931, in Calhoun Falls, SC, she was the daughter of the late W.O. "Dick" Hawkins and Pauline Wilbanks Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Paul D. Hawkins and Fred Hawkins; and sisters, Viola Hawkins, Etrulia Hawkins, Virginia Browning, and Mary Vredenburg; and her beloved son-in-law, Rick Fletcher.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved the Lord, her family and her church family. Sue was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church in Anderson. She was the decorator for her church and always strived to make "God's House beautiful."

For a number of years Sue performed in the Anderson Senior Follies. She loved her friends and looked forward each spring when she would have a "friends brunch" and invite them into her home. Sue and Leland enjoyed many happy years at their beach home in Garden City, SC, and she loved spending time there. She was retired from Duke Energy with over 25 years of faithful service.

The service will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Pope Drive Baptist Church with Dr. Matthew Danuser officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall until 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pope Drive Baptist Church, 2510 Pope Dr., Anderson, SC 29625.
