Bobbie A. Slater Anderson, SC Bobbie Ann Gleason Slater, age 81, wife of Joe Dennis Slater, of Anderson, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Gleason and the late Anne Royster Gleason. She worked for over 30 years at True Temper as a shipping clerk. Bobbie loved her family and her church. She was a faithful member of Oakwood Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she and her husband were members of the same Sunday School class, Couples for Christ, for the duration of that time. She was also treasurer of the class for over 35 years. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her daughter, Debbie Fitzpatrick and her husband Stacey, of Lavonia, GA. She was lovingly known as nanny to her three grandchildren, Randy Adams, Shay Norris and Seth Slater and her four great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Michael Adams and Kaiden and Skyla Norris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dennis Slater; a daughter-in-law, Debra Slater; and a grandson, Cody Slater. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jeff Davis and Reverend Jeff Bartlett officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional.
