Bobbie McCollum Powell Welch, 88, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Rainey Hospice. Born March 8, 1931, in Anderson, SC, Bobbie was a daughter of the late Thomas Edd McCollum and Gloria Tabor McCollum. She worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass for over 30 years where she retired. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Bobbie is survived by her sons, William T. Powell of Murfreesboro, TN, and Steve Powell of Anderson, SC; sister, Ruth Hobbs of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her brothers, John Edd McCollum, Thomas Edd McCollum, Jr., Dolph McCollum, Roy McCollum, Lummas McCollum, and Joe McCollum; and sisters, Fannie Lou McGuffin, Mary Burke, and Annie McCollum. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2019. A graveside service will follow visitation at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Rev. Ed Hunsinger officiating.
