BOBBY AYERSJuly 19, 1932 - March 16, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. Bobby Ray Ayers, age 73 of Anderson, SC, husband of Shirley Hunnicutt Ayers, died Friday, March 16, 2007.Born July 19, 1932 in Anderson, Mr. Ayers was the son of the late Lloyd Thomas Ayers (Buck) and the late Eunice Sheridan Ayers Sullivan and step-mother Esterine Ayers of Greenville, SC. He served in the United States Navy 1952-1956. Mr. Ayers was retired from Seabrook, Inc. where he worked from 1961-1985 and then worked with Draper & Draper Texmaco from 1985 until 1999. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and is survived by his wife and daughter Tonia McMurchie and her husband Tim McMurchie of Charlotte N.C., a son Bray Ayers and his wife Norma Ayers of Anderson, and their daughter Tandy Ayers Wickiser and her husband Kurt Wickiser. Sisters of the deceased are Artie Ayers Hughes and brother in law Dick Hughes of Greenville, Guynell Busbee of Greenville, Jo Ann Pierce of Maine. Grandchildren are Tripp Shealy, Alexa Ayers, Kathleen McMurchie, Seth McMurchie, D.J. McMurchie, Taylor Ayers, Lee Ayers and Ethan Ayers.He was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Ayers Fletcher.The funeral service will be held in the Chapel at the McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, March 19, 2007 at 2:00 pm officiated by the Reverend Bob Marcaurelle and the Reverend Randy Blank. Interment will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery.The family will receive friends and visitors from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Sunday, March 18, 2007.
